The Member representing Ilorin East Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Arinola Lawal, has extended warm greetings to Muslims in Kwara State, Nigeria, and across the world on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, describing it as a profound reminder of faith, sacrifice, and devotion to Almighty Allah.
In a goodwill message marking the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration, Hon. Lawal said the festival remains one of the most spiritually significant moments in the Islamic calendar, commemorating the unwavering obedience of Prophet Ibrahim to the command of Allah.
She noted that the story continues to serve as a timeless lesson in humility, trust, and selflessness.
She urged Muslims to use the occasion to reflect deeply on the true essence of the celebration, stressing that Eid-el-Kabir goes beyond animal sacrifice to embody enduring values such as compassion, generosity, righteousness, and commitment to peaceful coexistence.
According to her, the present time calls for greater unity and understanding among citizens, adding that the teachings of the season should inspire stronger bonds within families and communities, as well as promote harmony across religious and social divides.
“As we celebrate this blessed season, I urge our Muslim brothers and sisters to reflect deeply on the values of sacrifice, compassion, generosity, and commitment to righteousness,” she said.
Hon. Lawal also prayed for divine acceptance of prayers and acts of worship offered during the period, asking Almighty Allah to shower mercy on the faithful and grant Kwara State and Nigeria lasting peace, unity, progress, and prosperity.
She wished all Muslims a peaceful and joyful Eid celebration, concluding with prayers for continued blessings for the land.
