‘Received a lot of criticism’ – Galatasaray Insider Kutlu Akpınar reveals Osimhen comforted Barış Alper in dressing room

Galatasaray reporter Kutlu Akpınar has revealed that Osimhen showed support for his teammates Barış Alper in the dressing after he was whistled by the fans at the end of the 3-1 victory over Bodo/Glimt on Wednesday evening.

Osimhen scored a brace and set his name in the record books as the Yellow-Reds secured their second victory  in the UEFA Champions League at Rams Park.

The Nigerian International scored the Galatasaray’s fastest goal in the tournament with his opener two minutes and 53 seconds into the game.

He also became the first Galatasaray player to score in seven consecutive European games.

While the Nigerian international was applauded for his performance, Alper was booed by the fans for his underwhelming display.

In an interview with habersarikirmizi, Akpınar revealed that the Turkish winger was comforted by his teammates in the locker room.

“Barış Alper, who faced criticism as he was leaving the game, was given moral support in the dressing room by Okan Hoca and his teammates,” he disclosed.

He emphasized that the biggest support came from Osimhen, who had a long conversation with the winger to motivate him.

“While the biggest support came from the star of the match, Osimhen. The Nigerian star had a long conversation with Barış,” he said.

Osimhen has been in fine form for the Yellow-Reds since making a permanent switch in the summer window.

The Nigerian International has scored five goals in eight matches across all competitions.
