A 17-year-old boy, identified as Ridwan Oseni, has been arrested by the Kwara Police Command in Ilorin for allegedly defiling a five-year-old girl.
The Commissioner of Police, Kwara Command, CP Adekimi Ojo made this disclosure on Friday, October 17, 2025 while briefing journalist about the command’s operations in recent months.
The incident reportedly occurred on September 10, 2025. According to the police, the victim’s mother raised an alarm after her daughter, who had left home for her Arabic lesson around 4:10 p.m., could not be found.
While searching for the child, the mother saw her daughter emerging from the room of the suspect, Ridwan Oseni, holding her underwear.
She swiftly reported the case to the Adewole Police Station and officers jumped into action and arrested the suspect.
Following the arrest, he was later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Ilorin, for investigations.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect lured the minor into his room and committed the act.
While the suspect had confessed to commiting the crime, the commissioner revealed that the suspect would be charged to court following the conclusion of investigation.
