Kwara APC chieftain Wale Sulaiman joins governorship race, tasks ASKOMP on credibility checks

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Professor Wale Sulaiman (CON), has formally declared his intention to contest the governorship election in the 2027 general elections, calling on journalists to uphold professional diligence in projecting credible candidates.

Prof. Sulaiman made the declaration on Saturday during a media parley with the Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

He explained that his ambition is anchored on the vision of establishing a “Kwara State Prosperity Agenda,” which he said would focus on building a peaceful, united and prosperous state driven by people-centred governance and inclusive development.

According to him, his aspiration is rooted in providing purposeful leadership that prioritises the welfare of residents, promotes inclusive economic growth, and reduces poverty through job creation and improved access to education.

Sulaiman also urged members of ASKOMP to thoroughly investigate the backgrounds and credibility of aspirants ahead of the election, expressing confidence that such scrutiny would affirm his suitability for the state’s top job.
