Police operatives in Kwara State have rescued a kidnap victim and arrested two suspects during a coordinated operation in the Omu-Aran forest, Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.
The rescue operation, carried out through a joint effort between the police and local vigilante groups, led to the successful release of one Haruna Ahamadu, who was rescued unhurt from the kidnappers’ den.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ejire Adetoun, the arrested suspects have been identified as Ayisa Ibrahim (female) and Yakubu Hassan (male).
They are currently in police custody, while efforts are underway to track down other fleeing members of the gang.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo, commended the professionalism and dedication displayed by the officers and vigilantes during the operation.
He assured residents that the Command remains resolute in its commitment to dismantling criminal networks and ensuring the safety of all citizens.
CP Ojo also disclosed that investigations are ongoing, with promising leads being pursued to bring all culprits to justice.
